MeshMelo Terms of Service

Article 1. Purpose and Operator

These Terms set out the conditions of use and the respective rights and obligations of users and the operator of MeshMelo (“Operator”) for music listening, artist introductions, track and album publication, playlists, and community services. The Operator’s identity and contact for inquiries and rights-infringement reports appear at the end of this document. Both Members and the Operator shall respect each other's rights and applicable law.

Article 2. Nature of the Service

MeshMelo connects listeners with artists who introduce music. Content may be posted directly by Members. Artist verification or the display of content does not mean the Operator guarantees copyright ownership, other rights, or quality. Google Sign-In verifies an account; YouTube verification checks management authority over a specified channel. Views, rankings, subscriber growth, and earnings are not guaranteed.

Article 3. Registration and Account Management

To register, Members must accurately provide the required information and agree to these Terms and the mandatory collection and use of personal data. Membership is available to persons aged at least 14. Any separate transaction or activity requiring a legal guardian's consent must comply with applicable law. Members must not impersonate others, use someone else's account, or falsely claim rights or authority. Members should promptly inform the Operator of any suspected account compromise; the Operator must implement reasonable security measures and incident response.

Article 4. Artists and Multiple Channels

Access to artist features requires verification of the YouTube channel management authority and the eligibility conditions shown on the service. One Member may manage multiple artists, whose public pages are presented separately. The Operator does not expose to ordinary visitors a Member's other artists or their common ownership. This cannot guarantee concealment of information a Member has made public, information on external channels, or legally required disclosures. If eligibility is no longer met, access to artist features may be restricted, with an explanation and an opportunity for re-verification.

Article 5. Verify Rights Before Uploading — Important

Owning or managing a YouTube channel, or having previously posted music there, does not establish a right to reproduce, transmit, or publish that music on MeshMelo. YouTube Content ID decisions, permission to use content within YouTube, monetization approval, or absence of claims are not a license to use that content on another service.
Uploaders must own or obtain valid permissions for every submitted element, including recordings, composition, arrangement, lyrics, performances, phonograms, samples, loops, artwork, photographs, video, names, likenesses, and voices. They must examine restrictions in contracts with collaborators, record labels, distributors, and collective management organizations. Permissions must cover public streaming accompanied by advertising and necessary technical copying and conversion, and any attribution, territory, and duration restrictions must be respected. Credit or attribution alone does not replace permission.

Article 6. AI-Assisted Content

The use of AI does not eliminate copyright, moral rights, or personality rights, nor does it necessarily create exclusive rights in the output. Uploaders must check the generation tool's conditions, the plan in effect when the work was made, allowances for commercial use and off-platform distribution, and rights to input materials. Using others' music, lyrics, or recordings without authorization, or impersonating real persons using their voices or likenesses, is prohibited. AI involvement or production methods must be disclosed truthfully when law or the applicable upload instructions require disclosure.

Article 7. Evidence of Rights and Scope of License

Uploaders should maintain reasonable evidence such as contracts, licenses, receipts, tool terms, and production records. Upon a specific complaint, conflict of rights, or reasonable suspicion, the Operator may request evidence limited to what is needed. National ID numbers and unrelated third-party personal information should be redacted.
Rights in content remain with their rightful owners. For the period content is published, uploaders grant MeshMelo a non-exclusive authorization, within the rights they hold or have validly obtained, to stream it worldwide and to store, copy, transmit, convert formats, create thumbnails, index it for search, and show it on artist pages as needed to operate the service. Unless a separate settlement agreement exists, this authorization itself does not entitle the uploader to license fees. Processors may act only as needed to provide the service. This authorization alone does not permit stand-alone music sales, sublicensing for third parties' separate businesses, or AI model training. Separate permission is required for additional off-service uses such as advertising creatives.

Article 8. Removal and Termination of License

Uploaders can request that content be unpublished or deleted through their account controls or the contact channel. The Operator will stop public provision and terminate the corresponding license within a reasonably necessary time. Legitimate uses already completed are not retroactively invalidated. Temporary technical caches will be cleared following access restriction. Legally necessary backup or dispute records will not continue to be used publicly or for promotion. When permissions expire or the uploader loses authority, the uploader must immediately unpublish the content or inform the Operator.

Article 9. Copyright and Other Rights-Infringement Reports

Rightsholders may report infringement through the contact channel below. Reports should identify the claimant or representative and contact details, the type of right and relevant work, the MeshMelo page URL, the grounds for the claim, and evidence of ownership or authorization. Only the minimum information needed to verify identity and address the matter is requested; any legally required form or further evidence will be explained.
Where an enforceable takedown request or a clear infringement is identified, the Operator will promptly take legally required measures, including restricting public access, and notify the claimant and uploader. Urgent measures may precede notice. Restricting content during a dispute does not amount to a final determination of copyright ownership.

Article 10. Objections, Reinstatement, and Repeat Infringement

An uploader whose content is restricted may object by submitting an explanation and supporting evidence of ownership, permission, or error, together with contact details. The Operator follows applicable legal procedures and deadlines for evidence, notification, and reinstatement, subject to court orders and lawful takedown grounds. Content is not automatically restored based on an unsupported assertion, and a reporter's personal information is not disclosed wholesale; any legally justified disclosure is limited to what is necessary.
False reports, false counterclaims, fabricated evidence, repeated or material infringements, and attempts to evade restrictions may lead to warning, removal, upload limits, or account termination, considering gravity, repetition, and intent. Normally, reasons and an opportunity to respond will be provided. Urgent rights or security risks may require first taking action and then providing notice where permissible.

Article 11. User Obligations

Members must not infringe others' rights; post unlawful, hateful or threatening content; commit fraud or impersonation; disclose personal data without authorization; spread malware; manipulate rankings, play counts or recommendations; scrape without authorization; or disrupt the service. Extracting, redistributing, or selling music beyond ordinary listening, or bypassing protective measures, is prohibited. Even personal use must comply with applicable law and rights holders' permissions. Upload counts, formats and file-size limits are shown in the relevant interface.

Article 12. Boards and Public Information

Public nicknames, artist names chosen for publication, and posts may be visible according to the selected audience. Anonymous posts do not reveal the author's account or other artist identities to ordinary visitors. Internal identifying information is accessible only to authorized persons when needed for reports, security, or legal duties. Anonymity does not guarantee concealment from the Operator or lawful proceedings. Members should avoid including personal data that directly or indirectly identifies them in public posts.

Article 13. Advertising, Third-Party Services, and Technical Features

The service may display advertisements or links to external channels. External transactions and websites are governed by their own terms, without excluding statutory liability of the Operator. Outages or policy changes affecting Google, YouTube, and other external services may limit features; the Operator will seek reasonable responses and provide notices. If P2P sharing, relaying, or other use of a device's resources is offered, separate information and applicable consent or controls concerning network usage and personal data will be provided. Agreeing to membership does not itself authorize sharing device resources.

Article 14. Changes, Suspension, and Withdrawal

The Operator may change or suspend functions for maintenance, security, protection of rights, or reasonable operational reasons. Material foreseeable changes will be announced with reasons, timing, and expected effects; urgent changes will be announced as soon as reasonably possible afterward. If paid services are introduced, pricing, cancellation, and refund conditions will be disclosed separately. Members may withdraw, and the privacy notice explains account deletion. Members may contact the Operator if they cannot remove public content themselves. Withdrawal does not erase liabilities already incurred or lawful claims.

Article 15. Damages and Limits of Liability

A Member or the Operator who intentionally or negligently violates these Terms or the law and thereby causes harm is liable as provided by law. If a third party makes a claim against the Operator due to unauthorized uploads or false rights representations, the uploader shall reasonably cooperate in identifying facts and supplying evidence. An uploader's liability is limited to proven loss causally attributable to their fault and legally recognizable reasonable response costs. The Operator may not shift its own fault or avoidable increased losses onto Members, must explain the claim and allow a response, and must not settle in a way that arbitrarily fixes a Member's liability.
Liability for uncontrollable force majeure may be limited only to the extent permitted by law. These Terms do not waive liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the Operator, employees, or assistants, nor any non-excludable statutory liability. Free access does not waive all liability or impose excessive penalties or unlimited damages on Members.

Article 16. Disputes and Jurisdiction

Parties may review relevant facts and seek amicable resolution. Members remain free to seek mediation or relief from competent bodies, including the Korea Copyright Commission and the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee, or from the courts. No compulsory arbitration, waiver of litigation, or exclusive Operator-location forum is imposed. Korean law applies without displacing mandatory applicable provisions; jurisdiction is governed by applicable procedural law.

Article 17. Amendments and Interpretation

Changes to these Terms will be announced with their reasons and effective date, normally at least seven days in advance or thirty days for unfavorable or material changes, together with individual notices or consent where required. Failure to read a notice does not alone constitute agreement to new obligations or new uses of personal data. Members who disagree may terminate their account. If a provision is invalid, remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. Ambiguities are interpreted under applicable law and the principle of good faith.
